Career Highlights

1992 British Enduro Class Champion

1993 Represented Great Britain the ISDE. Overall 3rd. Gold medal winner British champion in class. 6th in world ranking.

1998 British Championship Downhill Mountain Bike 1st in Masters Class

1999 World Downhill Mountain Bike Championship. 12th in the World European Downhill Mountain Bike Championship. 4th Overall.

2001 European Vets Champion

2002 First attempt at the Dakar. Retired due to mechanical failure

2003 2nd British competitor across the Dakar Rally finish line. 42nd overall

2004 1st British competitor across the Dakar Rally finish line. 43rd overall

2005 1st British competitor across the Dakar Rally finish line. 48th overall and finishing 3 consecutive Dakar Rally’s.

2006 1st British competitor across the Dakar Rally finish line. 27th overall and finishing 4 consecutive Dakar Rally’s.

2007 Dakar cancelled at the start line.

2009 Dakar moves to Argentina. 1st British competitor across the Dakar Rally finish line.  Finishes 26th overall and 5 consecutive Dakar Rally’s.

Mick has achieved so much in his lifetime and he is one of the most successful British Dakar riders having brought home 5 finishing medals. The Dakar is known for being the hardest rally in the world covering 9000km across some of the toughest terrain on the planet.

Mick’s always dreamed though of setting up an off road school where he can share his extensive knowledge with riders of all levels. In between preparing and raising money for the Dakar Mick’s experience has been utilized by many other off-road companies to lead, train and inspire riders of all levels. 2009 being Mick’s last Dakar on a bike, Mick now wants to dedicate his time to this new venture.
